Field Network Technician

Responsibilities – Network Field Technician:
- Front line support for troubleshooting of ISP carrier network across the Sunshine Coast and beyond
- Maintenance and troubleshooting of carrier network
- Level 1 and 2 support
- Identifying system failures and bottlenecks to ensure long-term network efficiency
- Inspecting infrastructure and fixing minor and major problems or delegating to contractors where appropriate
- Evaluating network performance and finding ways for improvements
- Performing upgrades and maintenance in live environments
- Providing customers with technical advice, including network usage and comprehensive instructions
About You:
- Competent in the responsibilities of the position listed above
- Passion for technology
- Strong knowledge of network fundamentals (Certificate in CISCO or Mikrotik)
- Good understanding of network troubleshooting and the OSI Model
- Experience with ISP carrier networks (preferable)
- Open Registration Structured Cabling Certificate with Fibre and Structured Cabling endorsements (preferable)
- Excellent communication, diagnostic and documentation skills are essential
- Solid people skills and ability to liaise with customers professionally
- Willingness to follow procedures
- Proven ability to perform independently and as part of a team are critical for success
